For the price, especially when on sale, these kits are a good value though.A Few Tip For Builders: Lightly wet the linings to soften them up before trying to bend them into the body. But they have shortcomings that should not appear in a product of any price range, be it a $50 kit or one costing considerably more. Beyond that, these kits are an excellent value, and provide a great first experience for beginning builders. There’s no way to fix those issues aside from sawing the neck heels down and adding caps, which is a tricky operation due to the subtle curve in the neck joint.Both baritone ukulele kits also had bridge plates that were too small, and entirely the wrong shape, to fit between the cross braces. Tuners and stringing were no problem. The neck heels on all three of my kits were damaged. Very frustrating.Flexible linings (all 4 of them) are between 1/8” and 1/4" too short. They're simple, easy and a ton of fun (plus, they sound amazing!). It's pretty straight forward after you build a proper jig.I don't like how thin the veneer is.
